I am in my final year of B.Com(Bnaking and Insurance). I am interested in making a career in Equity Research. What would be my best option for achieving it?

My suggestion.
1. Do a Full time Post graduate program in Finance (offered in Pune by Proschool). This will give you a basic grounding in Finance and you can specialize in Financial Modeling and Analysis. (write to arvindg@proschoolonline.com for details). If you cannot be in Pune, do a distance learning NCFM program in Financial Modeling for basic knowledge and skills.
2. Start working for KPOs/brokerage firms/credit rating agencies to gather relevant experience. Start investing and tracking companies and build hands on knowledge.
3. Do International CFA for further adding the theoretical depth.
4. If you build your resume this way, you have a good chance of breaking into the big league in equity research.
